Q. What am I able to put in my skip?

A. Skips are used for the removal of non-hazardous waste such as building debris, household items and garden waste etc. If you need to dispose of hazardous waste you need special permits and containers. It is illegal for you to mix hazardous waste with non-hazardous waste. 

You may also request skips for scrap metal, just give our team a call to request prices. Contact our team for any hazardous waste requirements.

Q. What types of skip can I hire?

A. You may either hire an enclosed or open skip Open skips are the most popular for our customers; however, enclosed skips can be arranged at extra cost for materials that need to be protected from the weather.

Q. What will happen to my waste

A. Your waste will be brought back to Central Skip Hire’s state of the art recycling facility where the waste will be processed, segregated and cleaned and then finally sold where possible. We have an aim of sending zero waste to landfill so you can trust your unwanted waste will be in good hands

Q. Where can I put my skip?

A. You can place your skip anywhere on private property. However you must ensure that the driver will have access to the skip when he comes to collect your waste.

A. The below is hazardous waste, please do not put any of the following in your skip.
  • Corrosive liquid
  • Biological waste
  • Medical waste
  • Laboratory waste
  • Gas canisters
  • Waste oils
  • tyres
  • Fridges
  • Asbestos
  • Explosives

Q. What size of skip should I hire?

Dos & Dont's

  • DO ensure that your driveway or entrance is wide enough to receive your skip
  • DO NOT attempt to move your skip by yourself after it has been delivered
  • DO NOT overfill your skip, It is illegal for you to do so, if you are unsure please contact a member of our team
  • DO check with your team what kind of skip is best suited by giving them as much information as possible
  • DO NOT fill your skip with hazardous material
  • DO NOT put tyres in your skip
  • DO NOT put gas bottles/cylinders into your skip
